Omar Fateh’s record shows
a pattern of fraud, lies,
and corruption.

Not progressive values.

Check the facts for yourself:

Fateh’s Senate Campaign Committed Voter Fraud

Fateh’s brother-in-law and campaign volunteer, Muse Mohamud Mohamed, was convicted of lying to a federal grand jury,[1] claiming he had returned Fateh’s absentee ballots for voters upon their requests, despite submitting them without the voters’ knowledge.[2] Fateh faced an ethics complaint in the State Senate, where Mahamed testified that he was acting under orders from Fateh’s campaign manager and aide. Fateh refused to fire him, and when confronted about the fraud, repeatedly lied about being related to Mohamed, saying his name is a "common Somali name" [3] .

Fateh Defended Feeding Our Future Fraudsters

Fateh publicly defended the Feeding Our Future nonprofit after state officials tried to halt its operations due to concerns over the misuse of federal funds. [4] Fateh said he was assured there was “zero evidence” of fraud in the group’s meal program and appeared alongside the organization’s executive director, Aimee Bock, criticizing the state for pausing funding to the nonprofit. [5,6] Bock, who the U.S. Attorney’s Office called the “mastermind” of the $250 million fraud scheme, would later be found guilty of stealing millions of dollars in federal funds meant to feed hungry children to fund her lavish lifestyle. [7,8] After the FBI raided the nonprofit’s locations, Fateh admitted to receiving $11,000 in campaign donations from linked individuals, including some directly named in federal search warrants. [9,10]

Fateh Proposed Corrupt Legislation and Violated Campaign Finance Rules

Fateh proposed legislation to give $500,000 to a nonprofit that endorsed his campaign and had given him free political advertising. The ads violated the law, which bans political activity & endorsements by tax-exempt nonprofits.[11] Fateh even violated campaign finance reporting rules, claiming he had “just forgotten” to disclose private payments on campaign finance accounts, leading to an ethics complaint by the State Senate. [12,13,14] In sum, Fateh has faced THREE formal Ethics complaints in the State Senate in just a few short years.

Fateh Wants to Defund and Disarm Police, Ignoring Residents

The majority of Minneapolis residents voted against the 2021 ballot measure to eliminate the Minneapolis Police Department – but Omar Fateh supported it and has remained laser-focused on making it harder for law enforcement & first responders to responsibly serve the public. [15]

Fateh called a bill to help law enforcement better assist in emergencies outside their jurisdiction “doubling down on a system of occupation, coercion, control and violence.” [16] He called a recruitment campaign for police hiring “wrong and immoral,” and opposed rebuilding Minneapolis’ Third Precinct police station.
